Vale Sandi Gemmell
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I announce the death of Sandi Gemmell, Vice President of the Australian Cat Federation and All Breeds International Judge.Sandi passed peacefully on 23 February 2022 following complications from an illness she was suffering. Sandi bred Russians under the Taiendi Prefix from 1978 and enjoyed success with them both in the Northern Territory and at a national level.Sandi first gained her Shorthair Licence in 1982 and became an All-Breeds Judge in 1991.Sandi's contribution to the Australian Cat Federation has been enormous and greatly appreciated by me particularly in her role as Vice President of ACF and the Secretary of the ACF (Inc) Judges Guild. In 2015 ACF awarded Sandi the Distinguished Service Award - only the 4th awarded for her service to ACF. She has served for many years on the committee of CANT, has acted in the capacity of ACF Delegate to the World Cat Congress, as Registrar and Chief Steward and her smile and dry wit will be missed by us all. We offer our sincere condolences to her daughters Nikki and Kimi and their families.Rest peacefully Sandi.
